Directed by Brad Bailey in association with Gwen Carr and the Mothers of the Movement, Her Fight, His Name follows Carr’s enduring fight for justice after the 2014 death of her son, Eric Garner, whose final words, ‘I can’t breathe,’ became a rallying cry against police violence and systemic racism. Filmed over several years, the documentary offers an intimate portrait of Carr’s transformation from grieving mother to nationally recognized advocate while exploring the intertwined themes of family, loss, community, and resilience.
