Can I still do research at the Rubenstein Library during the renovation?
Yes! The Rubenstein Library’s public reading room will move to a temporary location on the 3rd floor of Perkins Library (PDF map to reading room) for the duration of the renovation through 2015.

Our temporary reading room space will open for research visits on Monday, January 7, 2013.

Please read the information below to help you prepare for a research visit between January 7 and February 18, 2013.

How will the renovation affect my research visit?

We will be moving our collections between January 7 and February 18, 2013. Although we will be open for research during this time, please note that access to collections and reference services will be limited. Please check our reading room hours before planning your visit.

If you are planning a research trip, you are strongly encouraged to plan to visit us on or after February 18, 2013.

If you must visit between January 7 and February 18, 2013, please contact our staff at least four days before your arrival to ensure that we will be able to retrieve the materials you wish to use.

From December 17, 2012 through February 18, 2013, we will require up to two weeks to respond to phone or e-mail inquiries.

New and returning researchers should also note that we have implemented a new registration system. All researchers will complete a new online registration form, and will be able to request materials through finding aids and the online catalog. Detailed instructions for this process are posted on the Using the Reading Room page.
