Information for Researchers and Visitors

Can I still do research at the Rubenstein Library during the renovation?

The Rubenstein Library is closed to research visits from Wednesday, July 1, 2015 until Monday, August 24, 2015. During this time staff offices and collections will be moving and we cannot accommodate research visits or any use of our collections during this time. We will reopen August 24, 2015 in our newly renovated space.

Please get in touch with us if you have any questions about planning a visit on or after August 24, 2015.

Is there another location I can visit to use material from the Rubenstein Library while they library is closed?

The Rubenstein Library  cannot accommodate research visits or any use of our collections between July 1, 2015 and August 24, 2015. We do not have the space or the staffing for an alternative location, and it’s crucial that materials remain shelved so they can be moved safely.

When will the Rubenstein Library’s reading room move from its temporary location on the 3rd floor of Perkins to the new space?

Our current reading room space will be closed beginning on Wednesday, July 1, 2015. We will reopen in the renovated space on Monday, August 24, 2015. Staff will be moving their workspaces and collection materials during this time, so we will be unable to accommodate research visits.

Is it possible to get scans of material in the Rubenstein Library’s collection while they’re closed?

Between July 1st and August 23rd, we do not have access to our collections. For that reason, we are unable to respond to request for reproductions of material from our collections or answer research questions about our collections, and you will not get a response from us. Please get in touch after August 24th with your request, and we will be happy to help you then. Requests received before August 24th will not be added to a waiting list or queue.
