Innovation Lab
Dynamic e-Board Content
An iLab project for the Spring 2011 semester is to add dynamically updated information to the e-Board content shown on the large Plasma displays within the Library.
Emily Brassell and Mark Zupan are collaborating to intermix static JPEG images and dynamically updated content from RSS feeds. The static JPEG images primarily highlight events, exhibits and services within the Libraries. The dynamic content includes:
- New and Noteworthy Books in our Collections
- Public Events at Duke Libraries
- Events for Duke faculty, staff and students
The static and dynamic content will be managed using a system built with Yahoo Pipes, XSL, and jCarousel Lite. You can preview the new content online.
iLab participants will continue to explore possibilities for adding additional dynamically updated content such as:
- Available computer terminals within the Libraries
- Room schedules
- Recent or interesting reference questions
- Recently checked out items from our collections
